Desserts wanted!!

It's fast Sunday. I'm sitting home with a 2-year-old who has a runny nose instead of going to church with the rest of my family. The only thing I can think about is I WANT DESSERT!!! We have no traditional desserts for a Sunday evening or even favorites (unless you count chocolate chip cookies-which is Jeff's fav not mine). So, I'm wondering-does your family have a favorite dessert to make and what is it??? Let me know and I'll quiz my family to see if they have any favorites that I'm unaware of. Oh and I'd love any new dessert recipes you have to share! (Email me or leave a note in the post section.) Thanks!!

I had to comment on your post because I am a HUGE fan of desserts! Have you tried Croissant Bread Pudding? Okay, I don't like bread pudding at all-- but with croissants, this dessert is to die for! I don't know if it's kid-friendly because whenever I make it, Don and I don't share it with the kids :P

4 c. or 4 large croissants torn to bite-sized pieces
3 eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c. water
14 oz fat free sweetened condensed milk
2 T melted butter

Place croissants into greased 9x13 pan. In mixing bowl, mix eggs, vanilla & salt. Add water, condensed milk & butter--mix well. Pour evenly over bread. Bake @ 350 for 45-60 min until knife comes out clean. Put foil on top if it needs more cooking time (which it usually does) we don't want it to brown too much!

SAUCE:
1 c heavy whipping cream
2/3 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
mix in small saucepan. Cook over med-hi heat, stirring frequently. Bring to a boil, reduce heat & simmer 6-8 min. Pour over bread pudding when it comes out of oven.

And another...
I love this one for summer, and the kids always love it!

MESSY CAKE

Bake chocolate cake in a dripper (or whatever you call the big flat baking sheet)
Cut into bite-sized pieces.
Place 1/3 of cake into a pretty glass bowl. Drizzle chocolate syrup over cake. Spread whipped cream or cool whip on top. Layer cake, syrup, whip cream 3 times. Put in fridge until served.

T and I love pumpkin cake, pumpkin cookies, or yogurt with granola. (We are fans of fall flavors, and as you probably know he doesn't like a lot of sweets just like his mom.) I just found a new cake recipe that we loved - it was moist and I did half oil and half applesauce and next time I make it I am going to try using wheat flour.

If you guys try it let me know what you think. :)

How could I forget to mention chips and salsa! You can spice it up with a little cream cheese. :)
